As investigators combed the scene for evidence, police recovered four bullet fragments, which may provide crucial information in the ongoing investigation. Authorities are also on the lookout for a gray Hyundai that was seen speeding away shortly after the shooting.

This tragic killing marks the fifth homicide this year in the 88th Precinct, a significant increase compared to the three killings recorded in all of 2023, highlighting concerns about rising violence in the area.

The community is left to grapple with the loss of a young life and the escalating challenges of safety in their neighborhoods.
