NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue has entered a strategic partnership with the Japan Institute for Health Security (JIHS), a leading Tokyo-based agency focused on infectious disease prevention and response.
The new international agreement aims to strengthen preparedness against emerging infectious diseases at both institutions.
“This agreement underscores our commitment to advancing global preparedness for emerging infectious diseases,” said a spokesperson from NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines a structured collaboration involving the exchange of information and resources, joint training and education efforts, and clinical and research cooperation.
Key areas of focus include special pathogen preparedness strategies, development of emergency response protocols, collaborative research on high-consequence infectious diseases, and sharing expertise in patient management and containment measures.
JIHS affirmed the partnership supports its mission “to protect people from various diseases and health emergencies such as infectious diseases.”
This transcontinental alliance marks a significant step forward in global health security and resilience.
