Blood-spattered scene leads to arrest in Levittown domestic dispute

Nassau County Police responded to a 911 call that led them to a Levittown home, where they discovered blood smeared across the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom floors. To their surprise, no one was found inside the residence.

The investigation quickly took a turn when officers were alerted to a local hospital, where a 29-year-old man had arrived with a severe laceration to his arm.

As they pieced together the situation, the victim recounted a heated argument with his girlfriend, Marienny Yanez, 29, over the potential end of their relationship.

According to the victim, “The confrontation culminated with [Yanez] confronting me with a knife in each hand.” In a desperate attempt to defend himself, he raised his right arm to block her attack, resulting in a significant cut to his forearm.

After the altercation, Yanez dropped the knives and accompanied the victim to the hospital. However, her actions did not go unpunished. She was arrested without incident on charges of assault, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of a weapon.
