The Office of the Bronx Borough President has partnered GrowNYC to enhance food access for local residents.
While disclosing this on Friday, the Bronx Borough Presidebt Vanessa Gibson, said, “Recently, in partnership with GrowNYC, we distributed Health Bucks at Morris Heights Health Center, Parkchester, and Lincoln Hospital, giving Bronx residents greater access to fresh, healthy produce at local Greenmarkets.”
Gibson maintained that the initiative is part of a broader effort to support the community’s nutritional needs.
She hinted she that “The farmers markets are also teaming up with the NYC Department for the Aging to celebrate Healthy Aging Month, striving to combat hunger and improve nutrition for older adults.”
“Together, we’re promoting wellness and nutrition across the borough!” This collaborative approach underscores the commitment to fostering a healthier Bronx, ensuring that fresh and nutritious food is available to all residents, particularly those in need.
