Bronx Borough President Gibson ensures swift cleanup at Mitchel houses

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has demonstrated her commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment for residents, following her recent intervention at the Mitchel Houses.

In a statement shared earlier this week, Gibson recounted her visit to the housing development, where she observed an accumulation of trash that raised concerns about sanitation and public health.

“A few days ago, we visited Mitchel Houses and noticed an accumulation of trash at the development. We immediately reached out to NYCHA, and I’m happy to report that the issue was promptly addressed,” Gibson said.

Her swift action led to a prompt response from the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), ensuring the removal of the trash and restoring cleanliness to the area.

Gibson emphasized the importance of a clean environment in fostering stronger, healthier communities. “Ensuring a clean environment is key to supporting our communities, and we should never accept anything less than that in our borough,” she stated.

The borough president’s efforts underscore her dedication to addressing local issues promptly and working collaboratively with agencies to improve the quality of life for Bronx residents.

Residents of the Mitchel Houses expressed gratitude for the swift resolution, with many calling for sustained efforts to keep the environment clean and safe.

This intervention reflects Gibson’s broader commitment to creating a more livable Bronx where every resident can thrive in a clean and supportive environment.
