Bronx Borough President Gibson Hails ‘Incredible’ Puerto Rican Day Parade Experience

The Bronx was alive with color, rhythm, and community spirit on Sunday as residents joined thousands of revelers in celebrating the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City.

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson was among the many proud participants and shared her excitement and admiration for the event.

“We had an incredible time on Sunday at the National Puerto Rican Day Parade!” Gibson wrote in a public statement following the festivities.

The annual parade, one of the largest cultural celebrations in the city, served as a powerful showcase of Puerto Rican heritage, music, and resilience.

Borough President Gibson highlighted the unity and vibrancy of the occasion, emphasizing the role of the Puerto Rican community in enriching the cultural fabric of the Bronx and beyond.

“It was a vibrant display of pride, culture and community that showcased the strength and spirit of our Puerto Rican community in the Bronx and across New York City!” she said.

The National Puerto Rican Day Parade, held along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, attracted community leaders, elected officials, artists, and families from all five boroughs.

For many, it was more than just a celebration—it was a reaffirmation of identity, heritage, and the ongoing contributions of Puerto Ricans to the city’s history and future.
