Bronx BP Gibson invests $395,000 in public safety

In a significant step toward enhancing public safety in the Bronx, Borough President Vanessa Gibson announced a robust investment of $395,000 aimed at fortifying community security.

In a heartfelt post on her Facebook page, Gibson detailed the funding allocation, which includes the establishment of a borough-wide mobile command unit and the installation of security cameras throughout the district.

Gibson emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “We are proud to invest $395,000 in our borough’s public safety efforts, which include funding for a borough-wide mobile command unit and security cameras. Today’s announcement is a critical part of our ongoing commitment to combat crime and ensure that every resident feels safe in their home and on our streets.”

The strategic deployment of these security cameras is set to play a pivotal role in crime prevention. “Together, we will deploy these cameras strategically, ensuring that they are placed in areas that will have the most impact,” she added.

This proactive approach underscores Gibson’s dedication to creating a safer environment for all Bronx residents, reflecting a community-oriented focus on crime reduction and public safety.
