Bronx Leader Drammeh Urges United Support for Mayor Adams’ Reelection

Bronx community leader Sheikh Musa Drammeh has called on Bronx Democratic County Committee (BDCC) Chairman Hon. Bailey and other elected officials to unite in endorsing New York City Mayor Eric Adams for a second term.

In a letter addressed to the BDCC chairman and copied to Bronx elected officials, Drammeh praised their dedication to public service and highlighted legislative achievements that have directly benefited the borough.

“Public service is never easy, and I commend each of you for your commitment, leadership, and the personal sacrifices you make for our community,” Drammeh wrote. “Your work has brought real and measurable benefits to the Bronx. I have seen you not only sponsor vital legislation but fight relentlessly for its passage—like Senator Luis Sepúlveda’s designation of October as Healthy Lifestyle Month, a measure that will save lives and reduce public health costs for years to come.”

Describing the upcoming mayoral election as “one of the most consequential in recent memory,” Drammeh urged leaders to “put the Bronx first—above party lines, above political factions, and above personal ambitions.”

He credited Mayor Adams with bringing “more focused attention to our needs than many of his predecessors” and noted his collaboration with Bronx leaders on “critical projects” that require continuity to be completed.

“Abandoning that momentum now would risk losing years of progress and investment,” he cautioned. “I therefore urge you to stand united in endorsing Mayor Eric Adams for reelection. Together, let us ensure that the Bronx remains at the forefront of New York City’s priorities and that the initiatives we have begun together are brought to full fruition. The Bronx deserves nothing less.”
