Bronx Leaders Join Forces to Feed Families and Empower Youth at ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ Event

In a heartwarming display of unity and service, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson joined community leaders, partners, and young people for a transformative event titled My Brother’s Keeper: Feed the Bronx—a day dedicated to service, reflection, and lasting impact.

“Yesterday, we joined partners, community leaders, and youth for My Brother’s Keeper: Feed the Bronx — a powerful day of service, reflection, and impact,” Gibson wrote.

“Together, we packed meals for Bronx families and reaffirmed our commitment to equity, empowerment, and brotherhood.”

The event brought together volunteers from across the borough who worked hand-in-hand to pack essential meals for families in need. More than just an act of charity, the day symbolized a collective stand for justice, opportunity, and community strength in the Bronx.

“Thank you to all who showed up and showed love for our borough!” Gibson added, emphasizing the outpouring of support and solidarity shown by all involved.

My Brother’s Keeper, an initiative originally launched under President Barack Obama, aims to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color. Events like these continue that mission by fostering community collaboration and reinforcing values of support and mutual upliftment.

The day’s efforts not only addressed immediate needs through food distribution but also echoed a broader vision of inclusive progress and shared responsibility within the Bronx community.
