Bronx Week 2025 Kicks Off with Star-Studded Honors and Celebration of Borough Pride

“Join us as we celebrate everything that makes the Bronx bold, brilliant, and unforgettable!” – Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson

The Bronx is alive with pride and celebration as Bronx Week 2025 officially kicks off, marking the beginning of a borough-wide celebration of culture, community, and excellence. In a spirited press conference held at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson launched the 53rd Annual Bronx Week festivities, joined by the Bronx Economic Development Corporation, the Bronx Tourism Council, and a host of community sponsors.

“Bronx Week 2025 is officially underway!” Gibson announced. “Yesterday, we proudly kicked off the 53rd Annual Bronx Week press conference at the Bronx Museum of the Arts alongside the Bronx Economic Development Corporation, Bronx Tourism Council and sponsors.”

This year’s celebrations will shine a spotlight on four iconic Bronxites who have made significant contributions to their respective fields as part of the Bronx Walk of Fame: WWE Superstar Damien Priest, NBA Star Kemba Walker, Freestyle Music Icon Judy Torres, and Renowned Artist Devon Rodriguez. Each honoree, according to Gibson, represents “the heart, hustle, and talent of our borough.”

Also returning for its third year is the People’s Choice Award, which honors individuals making outstanding contributions to Media and the Arts. This year’s award goes to Gary Axelbank, a beloved figure and longtime champion of Bronx stories and voices.

Bronx Week 2025 will culminate in a weekend of spectacular events starting May 18th, including the Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony, Bronx Ball, Parade, Food & Arts Festival, and the Bronx Week Concert. “Join us as we celebrate everything that makes the Bronx bold, brilliant, and unforgettable!” Gibson concluded, rallying Bronxites and visitors alike to take part in the celebration.
