In a sweeping operation that underscores the Trump administration’s commitment to stricter immigration enforcement, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed the arrest of 583 individuals in a large-scale crackdown targeting illegal immigrants. Of those arrested, 373 have already been detained in various facilities, with hundreds more deported to their home countries.

The raids, carried out across worksites in New Jersey, mark the administration’s decisive action just three days after President Donald Trump was sworn into office. The operation, described by the White House as the “largest deportation operation in history,” aligns with Trump’s campaign pledge to deport millions of illegal immigrants as part of his broader immigration policy.

CABS World News correspondent gathered that the scale of the operation was highlighted by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who disclosed that 538 individuals were arrested, including a suspected terrorist, four members of the notorious Tren de Aragua gang, and several individuals convicted of heinous crimes such as sexual offenses against minors.

Leavitt emphasized the administration’s resolve to secure the nation’s borders, stating, “The Trump Administration arrested 538 illegal immigrant criminals, including a suspected terrorist, four members of the Tren de Aragua gang, and several individuals convicted of sex crimes against minors. Details released by ICE and the White House revealed the offenses committed by some of the individuals arrested, including rape, sexual misconduct involving a child, and continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

The deportation of hundreds of illegal immigrants was carried out using military aircraft, further showcasing the administration’s robust approach.

It was reported that the administration planned similar large-scale immigration raids, including an anticipated operation in Chicago. ICE announced the raids via its official X handle on Thursday, signaling an aggressive start to the new administration’s immigration policies.
