Mayor Adams honors city worker Delus for saving life on train tracks

Mayor Eric Adams has honored city worker Marie Delus with a special citation for saving a fellow New Yorker in distress on the train tracks.

The recognition, presented highlighted Delus’ quick thinking and courage during the life-threatening incident.

Mayor Adams expressed his gratitude, saying, “Marie has served our city for more than two decades, yet continues to deliver for her neighbors. We thank her for her bravery that day and all her contributions over the years.”

Delus, a dedicated city worker, risked her own safety to help another, embodying the spirit of public service and heroism that defines New York City’s best. Her actions that day were a testament to her unwavering commitment to her community.
