New Era for Bronx Families: Borough President Gibson celebrates commonpoint ribbon-cutting

A vital new resource for Bronx families has officially opened its doors, as Borough President Vanessa Gibson led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Commonpoint, a 37,000-square-foot facility dedicated to community support and development.

Located in the former Madison Boys and Girls Club space, Commonpoint aims to fill the void left by the closure of the recreational center, offering a range of essential services to uplift local residents.

“We proudly celebrated the ribbon-cutting of Commonpoint, a vital new resource for Bronx families!” Gibson stated. “This 37,000-square-foot facility, now in the former Madison Boys and Girls Club space, will provide essential services like afterschool programs, workforce training, health and wellness initiatives, and mental health support.”

The facility represents a significant investment in the Bronx, providing much-needed programs to enhance educational opportunities, career readiness, and overall well-being. Gibson emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the borough’s future.

“Commonpoint is bridging the gap left by the closure of this recreational space and ensuring our residents have the tools they need to thrive,” she said.

“We are proud to welcome this incredible investment in our community and remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen the Bronx!”

The opening of Commonpoint underscores ongoing efforts to create accessible, community-driven solutions for Bronx families, ensuring that residents have the resources they need to succeed.
