New York AG Letitia James vows to stand firm against Trump, ready to fight for justice

New York State Attorney General Letitia James has made a bold declaration regarding her stance on Donald Trump’s presidency, emphasizing her commitment to uphold justice and accountability.

In a recent statement to reporters, James vowed that her office will continue its vigorous opposition to Trump’s administration, asserting, “We are prepared to fight back once again.”

While expressing a willingness to collaborate with the administration “if possible,” James firmly stated that her office will not sacrifice its values, integrity, or principles in the process. This statement underscores her determination to maintain a principled stance in the face of political challenges.

Highlighting her office’s extensive history of confronting the Trump administration, James pointed to nearly 100 legal actions taken against the former president’s policies. This includes significant efforts to block attempts by the White House to eliminate federal grants that support law enforcement agencies.

With the looming possibility of Trump pardoning himself for federal crimes, James reminded the public that such an action would not extend to state convictions in New York or the charges arising from the 2020 election case in Georgia. She assured that she, along with other Democratic Attorneys General, is prepared to continue defending the rights of citizens and to face any challenges posed by the next administration.

James’s resolute stance sets the stage for ongoing legal battles as she and her colleagues remain vigilant in their commitment to justice and accountability in the political arena.
