SMD resists attempt to cancel Healthy Lifestyle Lifespan event at Lincoln Hospital

Sheikh Musa Drammeh, co-founder of Healthy Lifestyle Lifespan, stood his ground against an abrupt and seemingly baseless attempt to cancel his event at Lincoln Hospital.

“Bronxites have tolerated being mistreated by the same people whom they pay their salaries in public institutions. Not me and not ever,” Drammeh declared.

He sets the stage for a confrontation that would affirm not only his rights but also those of the community he represents.

The day before the much-anticipated event, Natasha Burke, the Chief of Staff for the hospital’s CEO, reached out with unexpected news.

“Are you Sheikh Musa Drammeh?” she asked. Upon confirming his identity, Drammeh was informed that his event was canceled. Perplexed and determined, he pressed for a reason, only to receive a vague response: “It was just canceled, that’s it.”

Drammeh, unfazed by the lack of explanation, responded with firm resolve. “No, my event will not be canceled a day before without a real reason,” he stated.

Highlighting his personal contribution to the community through taxes, he reminded Burke, “I paid over $72,000 in corporate and personal income taxes last year to keep the hospital open and your salary paid. Please find out who I am before making regrettable mistakes.”

After contacting David Coulibaly to mediate, Drammeh was reassured when Burke called back an hour later.

“Your event will go on in a different room,” she confirmed.

Drammeh’s response was confident: “I know my event would go on all along,” he said before ending the call.

The event proceeded as planned.

In the end, he expressed gratitude to those who stood by him, saying, “Thank you, David Coulibaly and Alina Dowe, for saving some employments in the Bronx.”
