Bronx River Avenue transformed, new public space celebrated under Bruckner Expressway

New York City Council Member Amanda Farias has shared exciting news about a newly unveiled public space nestled under the Bruckner Expressway on Bronx River Avenue.

“My office was happy to join YMPJ for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of a new public space under the Bruckner Expressway on Bronx River Ave!” Farias announced on her Facebook page.

She expressed her gratitude to the Young Merchants of the Bronx (YMPJ) for their pivotal role in the project, emphasizing the importance of arts and culture within the community.

Highlighting the broader goals of urban planning, Farias noted, “Part of expanding micromobility involves making commuter pathways feel more welcoming to pedestrians, and beautifying this space does just that.”

Farias concluded her heartfelt message by thanking “all the organizations and individuals who helped bring a shared vision of turning what once was a forgotten pathway into a vibrant gathering space.”
