In a bold effort to expand job opportunities for Bronx residents, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has partnered with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) to launch Future Forward Bronx, a collaborative initiative aimed at connecting job seekers—especially those historically marginalized in the workforce—with stable employment and long-term career paths.
“This week, we joined the New York State Department of Labor to announce Future Forward Bronx, a new collaborative initiative to expand employment opportunities for Bronx residents,” Gibson stated.
The initiative will host a series of job fairs at Bronx Borough Hall, creating direct links between job seekers and potential employers across various industries.
This follows the overwhelming success of previous NYSDOL-backed job fairs, where over 700 job seekers participated in a single event.
“This initiative is about breaking down barriers and ensuring that every Bronx resident has access to meaningful employment opportunities,” Gibson emphasized. “We are committed to fostering a stronger, more inclusive workforce in our borough.”
The collaboration with NYSDOL brings together a network of employers eager to hire local talent while providing career training and resources to help residents secure long-term, well-paying jobs. Gibson expressed her gratitude, stating, “Thank you to the NYS Department of Labor and all our employers for their support in making this initiative a reality.”
With Future Forward Bronx, the borough is taking significant steps toward economic empowerment, ensuring that residents are not just finding jobs but building sustainable careers.
