Bronx: BP Gibson Applauds Volunteers as 56 Join Bronx Cleanup on Cedar Avenue

This past weekend, the Don’t Dump on the Bronx summer cleanup series continued with another impactful outing on Cedar Avenue.

A total of 56 volunteers from ASEZ WAO came out in force to support the initiative.

They successfully cleared 30 bags of trash, a discarded metal shelf, and piles of tree debris from the neighborhood.

The cleanup aimed to beautify the area and make it safer and more welcoming for residents.

To date, the volunteers have collected over 190 bags of waste through the series.

This amounts to nearly 2,000 pounds of trash, in addition to bulk items like chairs and even a car bumper.

“Every bag counts in the fight for cleaner, safer streets,” the organizers said.

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson praised the volunteers for their dedication and community spirit.

“We are grateful for the tireless efforts of ASEZ WAO and all our partners in keeping our borough clean. Your work shows what it means to take pride in our communities,” Gibson wrote.
