Borough President Gibson Honors Labor Leaders at Bronx Week Breakfast

The spirit of unity and appreciation was alive and well at The Pine Restaurant during the Bronx Week Labor Breakfast, where Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson paid glowing tribute to the borough’s dedicated workforce and the unions that champion their rights.

Describing the event as a heartfelt salute to labor, President Gibson stated: “The Bronx Week Labor Breakfast at The Pine Restaurant was a meaningful tribute to the hardworking members of our labor community and the unions that represent them.”

The breakfast drew a strong turnout of labor leaders, workers, elected officials, and advocates committed to the progress and protection of workers’ rights in New York City. The event provided a platform to celebrate the vital role labor unions continue to play in driving economic and social advancement in the Bronx.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to all who attended and contributed to the success of the event,” Gibson added, recognizing the community effort that made the celebration memorable.

A special acknowledgment was given to Ari Espinal, who served as the event’s emcee, and Lucia Gomez, the esteemed keynote speaker. Both were praised for their unwavering commitment to labor advocacy.

“A special thank you to our emcee, Ari Espinal, and Keynote Speaker, Lucia Gomez, for their leadership in empowering workers throughout our city,” Gibson said.

Lucia Gomez, a recognized labor strategist and policy leader, delivered a powerful keynote address highlighting the ongoing challenges and triumphs of workers across New York, and the importance of solidarity in today’s labor movement.

The Bronx Week Labor Breakfast stands as one of the signature events of Bronx Week—a borough-wide celebration showcasing the people, culture, and institutions that make the Bronx a vibrant and resilient community.
