Gibson Sworn In for Second Term as Bronx Borough President

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has been sworn in for a second term, reaffirming her commitment to serve the more than 1.4 million residents of the borough.

Announcing her re-inauguration, Gibson described the moment as an honour and pledged renewed dedication to leadership and public service. “Today, I was sworn in once again to serve as your Bronx Borough President,” she said. “It is an honor and a privilege to wake up every day and serve the more than 1.4 million residents of the Bronx and to show up each day on purpose, with a purpose.”

Gibson expressed gratitude to colleagues, family, friends, community members and her team at Borough Hall for their support throughout her first term. “I am deeply grateful to my colleagues, friends, family, community members, and my incredible team at Borough Hall for their unwavering love and support over the past four years,” she said.

Reflecting on the challenges of her first term, the borough president said the experience has strengthened her resolve as she begins her second term. “The work has not been easy, but as we begin Term 2, our commitment is stronger than ever to continue building a borough rooted in equity, opportunity, and progress for all,” Gibson stated.

She added that her administration would remain steadfast in advocating for the needs of Bronx residents. “We will never stop fighting for what our borough needs and what our borough deserves,” she said, while thanking supporters and expressing optimism about the years ahead.

“I look forward to all that we will accomplish together in Term 2,” Gibson added.
