Hispanic Pentecostal Community mourns Rosa Silva

The Hispanic Pentecostal community is mourning the loss of Rosa Silva, a revered leader, educator, and mentor who dedicated her life to ministry alongside her husband, Bishop Kittim Silva.

For over 50 years, Rosa and Bishop Kittim not only shared a marriage but also a mission, leaving an enduring legacy in New York City and beyond.

Rosa was much more than the wife of a prominent church leader—she was a leader in her own right. Her deep commitment to education, theology, and spiritual mentorship shaped countless lives. As a key figure in the International Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ, she played an instrumental role in theological education, ensuring that future ministers were well-equipped to serve.

“I had the privilege of being a professor in one of her classes at New York Theological Seminary, where her grace and professionalism shone brightly,” shared Bishop Raymond Rivera, paying tribute to her unwavering dedication.

The Silvas’ impact was far-reaching, evidenced by the churches they planted and the ministers they nurtured. Rosa was a steadfast pillar of strength for Bishop Kittim, offering unwavering support and inspiration throughout their journey together.

“Rosa was a pillar of strength for Bishop Kittim, whom she supported and inspired throughout their journey. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all she touched,” Bishop Rivera added.

As the community grieves this profound loss, Bishop Rivera extended his condolences to Bishop Kittim and his family.

“My deepest condolences go to Bishop Kittim and his family during this challenging time. As someone who understands the weight of such a loss, I pray for his strength and faith as he navigates life without his beloved Rosa.”

Rosa Silva’s life was a testament to faith, leadership, and service—her impact will continue to resonate for generations to come.
