Mayor Adams launches ‘Every Block Counts’ to tackle violent crime in NYC neighborhoods

In a bold move to enhance safety across New York City, Mayor Eric Adams announced the launch of a new pilot program aimed at tackling violent crime at the community level. Dubbed ‘Every Block Counts,’ the initiative emphasizes collaboration with community leaders and a surge of multi-agency resources to create safer neighborhoods.

Mayor Adams expressed his vision, stating, “We’re making EVERY NYC BLOCK safer for you.” The program is designed to empower local communities by leveraging their firsthand knowledge to drive impactful change.

“A new pilot program, ‘Every Block Counts,’ will work closely with community leaders like Carrie to address violent crime through a multiagency surge of resources,” Adams explained.

Highlighting the importance of grassroots partnerships, the Mayor added, “We’ll make a difference on the ground by partnering with those who know the neighborhood best. That’s how NYC builds safer communities across the five boroughs.”

The initiative represents a proactive approach to public safety, signaling Adams’ commitment to addressing crime with community-driven solutions.
