New York Council Member Amanda Farias proudly announced the continued success of her office’s Healthbucks initiative.
She shared the exciting updates on her Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to council member, the program, aimed at promoting access to fresh produce, recently brought the WSCAH mobile farmers market truck to the Castle Hill neighborhood, where it served over 100 residents.
Farias wrote, “My office’s healthbucks initiative is popular as ever! Proud to bring WSCAH mobile farmers market truck to #CastleHill to provide 100+ of my neighbors with the opportunity to get free produce with their healthbucks.”

The event, which highlighted the importance of healthy eating and community support, allowed residents to exchange Healthbucks for fresh fruits and vegetables. Farias encouraged those who couldn’t attend the event to take advantage of the program by visiting her office during the week.
She added, “If you missed our event today please feel free to stop by my office during the week to pick up your healthbucks. Healthbucks are distributed $10 per person, and the person must be present.”
