Shahnaz Highlights Unity as Muslim and Jewish Women Gather to Tackle Hate at AMMWEC Summit

The American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC) has hosted its annual “Uniting Against Hate” summit, bringing together Muslim and Jewish women from across the United States to champion interfaith collaboration and social justice.

Held under the theme “Partnership over Division,” the summit convened influential women leaders, activists, and faith advocates committed to confronting hate, dismantling stereotypes, and building bridges across communities.

Atia Shahnaz, a Muslim woman and community activist, participated as a panelist and offered heartfelt reflections on the importance of interfaith dialogue and solidarity.

“I was deeply honored to participate as a panelist in a crucial discussion on combating antisemitism and Islamophobia, organized by AMMWEC,” she stated.

Shahnaz emphasized the transformative power of unity and education:

“As a Muslim woman and community activist, I firmly believe that open dialogue, education, and unity are potent catalysts for overcoming hate and fostering inclusive communities. Together, we can create a brighter future by standing against discrimination and promoting understanding.”

Appreciating the opportunity to connect with fellow advocates, she added: “I’m grateful for this meaningful conversation and the opportunity to share the stage with like-minded voices advocating for justice and peace.”

She also acknowledged those who made the conversation possible: “Thanks to Anila Ali for this opportunity and to my co-panelist Sheikh Musa Drammeh for joining to discuss the keys to achieving peace and prosperity everywhere.”

The summit served as a critical platform for women of diverse faiths to engage in open dialogue and promote interfaith action in the face of rising hate, intolerance, and division.
