Former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton has lauded Mayor Eric Adams’ selection of Jessie Tisch as the new leader of New York’s Finest, calling her appointment a perfectly timed decision for the department.
“Congratulations to Mayor Adams on his excellent appointment to lead NY’s Finest,” Bratton wrote. “If ever there was a right time for the right person in the right place, the appointment of Jessie Tisch as NYC Police Commissioner would be it.”
Bratton highlighted Tisch’s extensive experience and expertise, noting her transformative role during her 12-year tenure at the NYPD as Deputy Commissioner of Information and Technology. Under her guidance, the department embraced advancements like crime-fighting smartphones and body-worn cameras, positioning the NYPD at the forefront of policing technology.

“I’m very confident in her capabilities, as should every New Yorker feel the same,” Bratton concluded.
