Mayor Adams joins River Fund NY to distribute thanksgiving meals to families in need

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, New York City Mayor Eric Adams joined the River Fund NY team in Richmond Hill to support their annual holiday distribution, helping thousands of families in need.

The organization, known for its tireless efforts to combat food insecurity year-round, welcomed Mayor Adams’ hands-on involvement as they provided meals and essential supplies to over 3,000 families this season.

Sharing his gratitude for the team’s dedication, Adams wrote, “Made my way to Richmond Hill this morning to help the @riverfundny team with their annual Thanksgiving distribution. While we helped more than 3,000 families in need this holiday season, this is an organization that is doing their work weekly, and I am so thankful for their dedication to giving back.”

River Fund NY, which operates weekly food distributions and community support services, has become a vital resource for countless New Yorkers facing hardship. Mayor Adams’ participation highlights the city’s ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots organizations that bring relief to underserved communities.

This Thanksgiving, the River Fund NY’s efforts—and Mayor Adams’ support—underscore the power of unity and generosity in strengthening New York communities.
