President Biden pledges unwavering support for California wildfire response, recovery

President Joe Biden has reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to aiding California in its fight against devastating wildfires. In a statement, the President highlighted his administration’s active engagement in addressing the crisis.

“Earlier, Vice President Kamala Harris and I received a briefing from Governor Newsom, Mayor Bass, and FEMA Administrator Criswell,” President Biden shared.

He noted that while the winds fueling the fires have subsided, the danger persists. “While the winds have died down, we expect they will remain a threat until early next week. We’ll keep working 24/7 to support state and local officials to fully stop these fires,” he stated.

Emphasizing his administration’s dedication to providing resources and assistance, Biden assured Californians of robust federal support. “I will also make sure California has every possible resource to fight these fires and help survivors,” he added.

The President urged those affected to seek help promptly. “Survivors should go to DisasterAssistance.gov or call the number: 1-800-621-3362 as soon as possible,” he advised.

As California battles the flames, Biden’s pledge underscores a united front between federal and local agencies, ensuring affected communities receive the aid they need to recover and rebuild.
