Liza Greenberg’s Journey from Bronx Science to Teen Vogue

Liza Greenberg, a member of the class of 2025, is a distinguished senior at the Bronx High School of Science.

She is actively involved in the school’s newspaper, the Science Survey, where she has established herself as a passionate student journalist. Beyond her contributions to the school publication, Liza is a fervent advocate for journalism, especially concerning the accessibility of journalism careers for students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.

Recently, Liza achieved notable recognition when her op-ed, focusing on the importance of making journalism careers accessible to a diverse range of students, was published in Teen Vogue.

This accomplishment highlights her commitment not only to journalism as a craft but also to its role as a tool for social change and inclusion.

In her own words, Liza articulates her deep connection to journalism: “Being a student journalist is central to my identity and has been for nearly half of my life.”

She emphasizes that journalism plays a critical role in education by teaching students to appreciate the complexity of various subjects. It encourages them to understand that the causes they support are intricate and that their perspectives should be well-informed and underpinned by a diverse array of information and evidence.

Through her work and advocacy, Liza Greenberg continues to inspire her peers and contribute meaningfully to the field of journalism.
