Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has hailed the Fordham Landing South project as a transformative investment that will significantly benefit Bronx residents.
In a statement shared on her official page, Gibson described the project as a “significant investment” in the borough, emphasizing its focus on community-centered development.
According to her, the initiative will deliver 100% affordable housing, a new pedestrian bridge, an extended platform to improve connectivity for Bronx residents to jobs, schools, and other opportunities, as well as expanded access to recreational spaces.
“Once it’s completed, this project will serve as a prime example of positive development designed with intentionality and balance to best serve the needs of our communities,” Gibson stated.
She also expressed appreciation to New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Empire State Development for their $55 million investment in the project, noting that the funding would help ensure residents have access to safe and affordable housing opportunities within the Bronx.
