Bronx Leaders Dance, Celebrate Love at 2nd Annual Prom Luncheon

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson hosted a joyous celebration for the borough’s older adults at the 2nd Annual Senior Prom Luncheon, a vibrant event filled with dancing, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

“We had a blast celebrating our amazing older adults at this year’s 2nd Annual Senior Prom Luncheon!” Gibson exclaimed.

“From dancing to laughter and unforgettable moments, it was a day to remember.”

The highlight of the event was the recognition of nearly 50 Bronx couples who have been married for 25 years or more, with some surpassing six decades of marriage. “Their love and dedication are living testaments to patience, partnership, and enduring commitment,” Gibson said.

The festivities also included the crowning of the best-dressed dancing couple as King and Queen of the Bronx, adding a regal touch to the celebration.

Reaffirming her commitment to the borough’s seniors—affectionately called “seen-agers” —Gibson emphasized ongoing efforts to support them. “We remain committed to supporting our ‘seen-agers’ by investing in affordable housing for our Bronx seniors, advocating for critical funding in the city budget, and hosting events that uplift their legacy and contributions,” she stated.

The luncheon served as both a celebration and a reminder of the vital role older adults play in the Bronx community.

“Congratulations again to our best-dressed dancing couple and everyone who joined us for this amazing celebration,” Gibson added.

With music, love stories spanning generations, and a strong sense of community, the Senior Prom Luncheon proved once again that age is just a number—and the Bronx knows how to celebrate in style!
