Cenk Uygur Slams U.S. Support for Israel, Calls It America’s “Top Enemy”

Cenk Uygur, political commentator and founder of The Young Turks, has launched a scathing attack on the United States government and mainstream media over their support for Israel amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

In a fiery monologue, Uygur accused Washington of prioritizing Israel at the expense of Palestinians, whom he said are facing a “forced famine” and mass civilian deaths. He argued that the overwhelming support for Israel in Congress was not only immoral but also driven by financial and political influence.

“Israel controls America. Saying anything otherwise is absurd. How could, in the middle of a famine, all of these dead children, 98% of our government is still kissing Israel’s ass? It’s pro-genocide. I accuse them of being deeply immoral scumbags,” Uygur said.

He condemned congressional hearings on antisemitism, claiming they were designed to shield Israel from criticism while ignoring the plight of Palestinians. “The real problem is how you guys are offending the Israelis. Ignore the AIPAC money. If you say AIPAC money, if that’s it, you’re hateful. You know, shut up. Lie on behalf of Israel. That’s what mainstream media says,” he charged.

Turning his focus to U.S. financial support for Israel, Uygur noted that Washington has provided over $310 billion in aid. He argued that such assistance has dragged the United States into wars and tarnished its global image.

“We don’t owe you a goddamn thing. We should cut off Israel. They’re not an ally. No one has caused more harm, more wars in my lifetime than Israel. At this point, they are our enemy,” Uygur declared.

He further accused U.S. politicians and media institutions of enabling war crimes: “You’re taking my money to murder Palestinian children. You goddamn racists. That’s how I feel about it.”

Uygur’s remarks come at a time of heightened tensions in U.S. politics, as debates over military aid to Israel, humanitarian crises in Gaza, and accusations of bias in media coverage continue to dominate national discourse.
