Council Member Amanda Farias is stepping up to keep her community warm this winter, partnering with Patagonia to donate winter coats to a local school, PS 119.
The initiative aims to ensure that every family in her district, CD18, is well-equipped for the cold season, particularly those new to New York City.
“I am proud to continue my partnership with Patagonia this winter to bring coats directly to one of our local public schools to ensure no family in #CD18 is left out in the cold this winter!” Farias shared.

The donation includes thick jackets, thermals, and other winter essentials that have been placed in PS 119’s community donation room. This initiative is especially meaningful to Farias, as PS 119 not only serves as an academic hub but also supports many recent migrant families who have settled in New York City.
“PS 119 is not only a fantastic school but home to many of our newest neighbors who migrated to New York City,” she noted. “Thank you to Principal Gomez and all the faculty for your continued work in supporting our community.”
This winter effort, driven by Farias’ commitment to community support and Patagonia’s resources, underscores her dedication to putting #communityfirst and ensuring that no one in CD18 is overlooked in times of need.
