Former President Donald Trump has taken to social media to assert his perceived victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, despite facing criticism for his demeanor.
Trump’s statement comes as the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll reveals a widening gap between him and Harris, with Harris leading the race for the November 5 presidential election by 47% to 42%.
Trump’s post-debate remarks were unequivocal as he addressed the criticism from his detractors.
“I won the Debate, but was criticized by the Radical Left Lunatics because I looked ‘angry and forceful.’ But think, why wouldn’t I be angry?” Trump declared. His passionate defense highlights his deep-seated concerns about the current state of the nation, which he attributes to what he describes as “grossly incompetent leadership.”
Listing a litany of grievances, Trump articulated his perspective on the issues plaguing the country, including “Inflation, A Terrible Economy, Horrible Military Decisions, No Respect from around the World, and more than 20 Million people, many from prisons and mental institutions, are pouring into our Country, and creating Havoc, Crime, and Destruction, like never seen before.” His rhetoric paints a picture of urgency and crisis, framing his campaign as a fight for America’s future.
In contrast to Trump’s impassioned defense, the poll results show a different narrative emerging from the debate. Harris, who many voters perceived as the victor, has seen her lead increase, with 53% of voters who watched the debate favoring her performance over Trump’s 24%.
Voter sentiment suggests that Harris’ composure and strategic attack on Trump’s legal troubles resonated with the electorate.
Trump’s critique of Harris extended to her demeanor during the debate, as he questioned, “Am I supposed to be smiling, like Comrade Kamala Harris, with her FAKE one-and-a-half hour smile and long practiced facial expressions, despite all of the problems that she and Crooked Joe have caused?” His words underscore a stark contrast in campaign styles and the narratives each candidate seeks to promote.
Despite the present challenges, Trump remains optimistic about the future, rallying his supporters with a message of hope and resurgence. “There’s nothing to smile about, but there will be in the not too distant future, when America makes the biggest Comeback in History,” he proclaimed, setting his sights on a victorious outcome come November 5th with his rallying cry, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
