A residential street in The Bronx has devolved into a veritable nightmare for local residents. Homeless heroin addicts have taken to openly using drugs, engaging in indecent acts, and creating a hazardous environment just steps away from the county courthouse and Borough President Vanessa Gibson’s office.

Fed-up neighbors voiced their frustrations in an exclusive interview with The Post.

“Glass from broken bottles and shattered syringes crunched beneath the dress shoes of attorneys walking along the stonewalled western portion of Franz Sigel Park last week,” as they navigated the debris-laden sidewalks on Walton Avenue toward the Bronx County Courthouse on nearby Grand Concourse.

This scene paints a grim picture of a community struggling under the weight of addiction and neglect.

“This neighborhood is barbaric,” lamented a Walton Avenue resident who wished to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation from drug dealers. “The stairs to the park are covered in graffiti, sh-t and piss. Everything’s rotting and everyone’s suffering.”

The environment has become increasingly unsafe, with drug baggies, soiled clothing items, fast food containers, discarded mail, human feces, and used condoms littering the area. Disturbingly, an inflatable Christmas decoration could be seen amidst the chaos, alongside “nine vials of blood,” highlighting the severity of the public health crisis unfolding in this neighborhood.

Residents are left grappling with the consequences of elevated rights for drug addicts, questioning a system that many feel has failed them.
