New York City Councilwoman Inna Vernikov shares heartfelt message amidst Israel’s crisis

In a poignant statement reflecting the ongoing conflict in Israel, New York City Councilwoman, Inna Vernikov, who serves as the council minority whip for the 48th district, opened up about her family’s distressing experiences.

“I spoke with my family in Israel who are spending their days in bomb shelters,” Vernikov expressed.

She highlighted the grim reality faced by many Israeli families.

Accompanying her heartfelt message were two contrasting photographs: one of her with her cousin during a visit to Israel years ago when she was just a little girl, and another of her cousin in the army, proudly receiving an award from a General at her base, which has recently come under attack by Hezbollah.

“This is the reality that Israeli families face on the daily – a reality which forces them to send their children to war to defend their country. I’m so proud of you Shelly!”
Vernikov added, showcasing her deep pride and concern for her cousin and the sacrifices made by young soldiers in Israel.
