CUNY reconnects, assists over 40,000 New Yorkers to return to college

In a groundbreaking achievement for educational accessibility, New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams has celebrated the impressive progress of the CUNY Reconnect program.

In her recent announcement, she expressed the significance of this initiative, stating, “When I first announced CUNY Reconnect, I knew we were making history.”

The results speak for themselves: more than 40,000 New Yorkers have taken the monumental step of returning to college to complete their degrees, with nearly 3,000 of these determined individuals successfully graduating. Adams emphasized the importance of this program, declaring, “This is a historic milestone, and by continuing to invest in CUNY Reconnect, we’ll reach even more working-age people throughout NYC.”
