The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring their children and flameless candles.

“This is a chance for us to come together and promote peaceful coexistence, public safety, and quality of life for all,” say a resident of Bronx Community Board 11 and member of New York Peacebuilding Commission, one of the key hosts of this historic event.

The ceremony aims to reflect the community’s diversity and commitment to public safety.

“We all deserve to live in communities that are peaceful, safe, clean, healthy, and sociable,” the spokesperson added.

The choice of Loreto Playground as the permanent venue for this annual event underscores the community’s values.

Participants can also look forward to light entertainment and speeches, including a performance of the acclaimed Peace December song.

With colder weather expected, organizers advise attendees to dress appropriately for the conditions.

The community is invited to join in this initiative to promote peace and unity as the Bronx celebrates its commitment to a harmonious future.
