Council member Ung secures $480,000 for PS 214 renovations, technology upgrades

On Monday morning, Council Member Sandra Ung visited PS 214 to share exciting news about a major funding boost for the school. Announcing $480,000 secured in the last budget, Ung revealed that the funds will be used to renovate the school’s auditorium and bathrooms and provide much-needed technology upgrades.

“Ensuring that our students have spaces that give them every opportunity to succeed has been a priority of mine since taking office,” wrote Council Member Ung in a statement about the visit.

During her time at the school, Ung also witnessed an inspiring showcase of student voices. Several fifth graders participated in SoapboxNYC, a public speaking competition encouraging students to address issues affecting their lives and communities.

Ung’s visit highlighted her commitment to creating both physical and intellectual spaces that nurture student growth and success.
