Mark Treyger, CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY), has been recognized as one of City & State NY’s “2025 New York Power 100,” a prestigious list celebrating the most influential figures shaping the state’s political and social landscape.
Treyger, who assumed leadership of JCRC-NY a year ago, has been instrumental in advocating for the Jewish community amid rising antisemitism and fostering intercommunal relationships across New York.
His tenure has been marked by decisive leadership, including his call for a mask ban following a surge in antisemitic hate crimes and his condemnation of vandalism targeting museum and college administrators’ homes.
Before joining JCRC-NY, Treyger served as a key city education official and a Brooklyn City Council member, where he gained experience handling crises. His leadership has been pivotal in navigating the challenges facing New York’s Jewish community, particularly in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.
Treyger’s inclusion in the 2025 New York Power 100 highlights his growing influence in city affairs and his commitment to strengthening Jewish advocacy while building bridges with diverse communities.
