Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has expressed her sorrow following the tragic roof collapse at a nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, which has claimed the lives of 18 people and left many others injured.

In a heartfelt statement, Gibson extended her condolences to the victims’ families and those affected by the devastating event.

“We are saddened by the tragic news coming out of the Dominican Republic, where a roof collapse at a nightclub in Santo Domingo has claimed the lives of 18 people and left many others injured. Our prayers are with the families and loved ones affected by this devastating event,” said Gibson.

The collapse, which occurred at a popular nightclub, has struck a deep chord within the Bronx community, where many residents have strong ties to the Dominican Republic. “This tragedy hits close to home, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to both the Dominican Republic and the community here in New York City, where many have connections to those impacted,” Gibson remarked.
