Gates Foundation Pledges $912 Million to Global Fund

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has announced a renewed commitment to the Global Fund, pledging over $912 million for the next three years.

Co-chair Bill Gates described the partnership as one of the most impactful initiatives the foundation has ever undertaken, praising the Global Fund’s role in combating HIV, malaria, and tuberculosis.

“They’re greatly reducing the deaths from HIV, malaria and TB. It’s a fantastic organization and we encourage others to join in,” Gates said.

Founded in 2000, the Gates Foundation is one of the world’s largest private philanthropic organizations, focusing on global health, education, poverty reduction, and digital innovation. Over the years, it has supported life-saving vaccine research, agricultural development for smallholder farmers in Africa and Asia, and initiatives to empower women and youth with education and healthcare access.

The foundation’s longstanding support for the Global Fund has helped strengthen health systems in low- and middle-income countries, ensuring that millions of people gain access to life-saving treatments and preventive care. Its renewed pledge is expected to further accelerate progress toward ending preventable deaths and empowering vulnerable communities worldwide.
