Bronx Borough President Reaffirms Commitment to Residents Ahead of New Mayoral Administration

Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has reaffirmed her administration’s dedication to strengthening services and expanding opportunities for residents as New York City prepares for a new mayoral era. In a message shared on Tuesday, Gibson said their focus remains firmly on the people of the Bronx. “As we prepare for the new year and to welcome a new Mayoral administration, our commitment to the people of the Bronx remains strong,” she stated.

Gibson explained that maternal health is a top priority, noting ongoing support for a Bronx Birthing Center designed to improve health outcomes for mothers and infants. She also emphasized the administration’s efforts to enhance neighbourhood security. “We are investing in public safety efforts that keep our residents safe in their communities,” she said.

Economic development remains central to her agenda, particularly through tourism initiatives expected to drive job creation and growth. She added that her office is committed to widening pathways to middle-class opportunities. “We are expanding pathways to the middle class through job and career fairs,” she noted.

Gibson also highlighted substantial investments in education, pointing out that more than $50 million has been channelled into Bronx schools to reduce the digital divide affecting students. Housing initiatives are being strengthened as well to support families across the borough. “We are advancing housing that uplifts the more than 1.4 million residents who call our borough home,” she said.

Expressing gratitude after a media engagement, Gibson thanked PIX11 for featuring her to discuss the Bronx’s ongoing progress. “Thank you to PIX11 for having us on today to discuss this and more,” she added.
