Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson has hailed the 1010 WINS Neighborhood Spotlight and Small Business Challenge as a celebration of the Bronx vibrant spirit, honoring local organizations and entrepreneurs for their contributions to the community.
“Yesterday’s 1010 WINS Neighborhood Spotlight and Small Business Challenge celebrated the heart and soul of the Bronx!” Gibson wrote. “We honored five outstanding Bronx community organizations—Bronx Chamber of Commerce, Southern Boulevard BID, Castle Hill BID, Throggs Neck BID, and Castle Hill YMCA—for their tremendous impact on our borough.”
The event underscored the borough’s community-driven resilience, featuring a “dynamic culinary conversation” to promote Savor the Bronx, a campaign that highlights the Bronx’s flourishing restaurant industry.
Gibson extended her congratulations to Fix it with Piggy, the small business that won the $10,000 prize for their innovative approach and entrepreneurial spirit. “Congratulations to the small business that took home the $10K prize, Fix it with Piggy, showcasing the resilience and creativity of Bronx entrepreneurs,” she added.
The initiative highlighted the crucial role small businesses and community organizations play in the Bronx’s economic and cultural fabric.
