Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson has reaffirmed her commitment to the welfare of older residents by visiting the Guess and Douglas Leon Older Adult Centers, operated by Neighborhood SHOPP.

During the visit, she shared vital community updates and introduced the borough’s new Senior Resource Guide, a comprehensive tool aimed at helping seniors access critical services.

In a statement shared following the visit, Gibson said: “Grateful to Neighborhood SHOPP for the opportunity to visit Guess and Douglas Leon Older Adult centers to share important information—including our new Senior Resource Guide—and hear directly from our older adults about the issues impacting our communities.”

The engagement provided a platform for meaningful dialogue, allowing older adults to voice concerns on matters affecting their daily lives, ranging from healthcare to affordable housing and community safety.

Neighborhood SHOPP, known for its dedication to enriching the lives of older Bronxites, facilitated the event, which highlighted the ongoing collaboration between community organizations and the Borough President’s Office to ensure the needs of seniors are prioritized in policy and planning.
