Bronx Science Speech & Debate Team gears up for 54th annual ‘Big Bronx’ Invitational

The Bronx High School of Science is abuzz with the excitement of hosting the 54th annual New York City Invitational, known as “Big Bronx,” a premier event in the world of high school speech and debate.

This renowned tournament, scheduled from October 18 to 20, 2024, promises to bring together hundreds of student competitors from across the country, vying for prestige and recognition in the competitive circuit.

The event will run daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., offering a platform for young debaters to showcase their eloquence and critical thinking skills.

Participants will have the option to compete either in person at the Bronx High School of Science, located at 75 W 205th St, Bronx, NY 10468, or virtually, catering to a diverse and widespread audience.

The Bronx Science Speech & Debate Team has expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to making this year’s tournament an unparalleled success.

“We look forward to once again hosting hundreds of student competitors from around the country!” they exclaimed. However, the team is keenly aware that the key to achieving this lies in the support of their alumni network.

“It is imperative that we have alumni come back to judge competition events,” they emphasized. The call to action extends an invitation to alumni to participate as judges, whether for a single day or the duration of the tournament. Their involvement is crucial in maintaining the high standards and fair competition that the Big Bronx Invitational is known for.

Prospective judges and alumni eager to contribute to this prestigious event urged to register at alumni.bxscience.edu/events
