Bronx: Woman brutally beaten, raped in early morning attack

A 26-year-old woman has been reportedly viciously beaten and raped in a brutal attack on Wednesday morning in the Bronx.

According to a report, the horrifying incident unfolded around 3:30 a.m. as the woman walked along Virginia Avenue near Wood Avenue. A stranger followed her, lurking in the shadows, before striking with terrifying violence.

The predator suddenly ambushed the woman, landing multiple punches to the right side of her body before committing the rape. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where she is reported to be in stable condition.

After the assault, the rapist fled the scene, heading south on Virginia Avenue and then east on McGraw Avenue.

The chilling nature of the attack has left residents on edge as police intensify their search for the suspect. The NYPD urges anyone with information to come forward as the hunt continues for the violent assailant.
