Brutal robbery shocks Coney Island, NYPD seeks public help to identify suspects

A violent robbery unfolded on Sunday, January 21, 2025, in front of 532 Neptune Avenue, leaving a 53-year-old man shaken and injured.

According to the NYPD 60th Precinct, the victim was seated in the rear of a vehicle when two unidentified individuals suddenly opened the car door and launched a brutal assault.

The attackers repeatedly punched the man in the face and head before forcibly snatching a chain from his neck. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene on foot, leaving the victim with visible injuries and in distress.

Authorities are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the perpetrators. “If you have any information about this incident, please call us at 800-577-TIPS or anonymously post on our website,” the NYPD urged in their statement.

The police are actively investigating the case and have urged the community to come forward with any leads that could bring the suspects to justice. Residents in the area are also advised to remain vigilant.

As investigations continue, the NYPD reassures the public of their commitment to maintaining safety and holding criminals accountable.
