JCRC-NY Joins Crown Heights Women to Celebrate Leadership, Love, Community Ahead of Mother’s Day

In a heartwarming show of unity and sisterhood, the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY) proudly supported the One Crown Heights Pre-Mother’s Day Brunch this past Sunday — an event that brought together 36 Jewish and non-Jewish women from across the Crown Heights neighborhood for a morning of celebration, connection, and empowerment.

The brunch served as a vibrant space for women to share delicious food and engage in meaningful conversations about their lives and leadership roles within their families and the wider community. Attendees bonded over common experiences and enjoyed special treats like hand massages as part of the celebration.

“This event brought together 36 women, both Jewish and non-Jewish, from the Crown Heights community,” the organizers noted.

“Participants enjoyed delicious food and meaningful conversation centered on shared experiences and their roles as leaders both at home and in their communities.”

JCRC-NY expressed its appreciation to the Mayor’s Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes for their vital support in making events like this possible.

“JCRC-NY is grateful to the Mayor’s Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes (OPHC) for their Partnership Against the Hate (PATH) grants that support community building programs to combat hate in our neighborhoods,” the organization stated.

By fostering open dialogue and unity among diverse women, the brunch not only celebrated Mother’s Day in advance but also reinforced the power of community-building in the face of division.
