New York Council Member Farias secures $1.5million for Tower Gardens Cooperatives

In a significant achievement for the Tower Gardens Cooperatives, New York Council member Amanda Farias announced that she has successfully secured $1.5 million in funding for vital maintenance projects.

This funding, in collaboration with Speaker Adrienne Adams, will focus on essential upgrades, including improvements to the boiler room and elevators.

Farias expressed her pride in the announcement, stating, “This week, I was proud to announce that, in partnership with Speaker Adrienne Adams, we’ve secured $1.5 million for the Tower Gardens Cooperatives for essential maintenance projects.”

She emphasized the importance of protecting affordable homeownership opportunities, particularly those within the Mitchell-Lama program.

“Protecting affordable homeownership opportunities, like those in the Mitchell-Lama program, is key to strengthening our communities and helping families build generational wealth,” she noted.

Highlighting her ongoing commitment to the community, Farias added, “Every budget cycle, I work hard to invest in homeowners, and this announcement highlights that commitment.”

She expressed gratitude towards the Tower Gardens community, saying, “Thank you to the Tower Gardens community for having me—I look forward to our continued partnership.”

This funding is poised to make a substantial difference in maintaining and improving living conditions for residents, reinforcing Farias’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life in her district.
