“New York is ready to respond” — Governor Hochul warns of severe snowstorm

Governor Cathy Hochul has issued a cautionary message to New Yorkers as a major snowstorm is set to blanket areas near Lakes Erie and Ontario with several feet of snow.

The storm, expected to bring near-whiteout conditions through Monday, has prompted preparations across the state.

“Between now & Monday, we’re expecting several feet of snow along Lakes Erie & Ontario with near whiteout conditions at times,” Governor Hochul stated.

To mitigate the storm’s impact, the state has mobilized resources, ensuring personnel and equipment are positioned to assist affected communities. “New York is ready to respond, with people & equipment in position to help,” the governor reassured residents.

She also urged New Yorkers to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines during the storm. “Follow local driving guidance & let workers clearing snow do their jobs,” she emphasized, highlighting the importance of allowing emergency crews to operate efficiently.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated on weather conditions and prioritize safety as the state braces for potentially hazardous winter weather.
